Relief and tears of joy

I have some more great news! The Endocrinologist came by to see Jess this afternoon. He had the a.m. cortisol results with him, and they are at 1.5!!!!! YIPPIE!!! I feel like my insides are doing cart-wheels! Mom will be staying with Jess until Monday, I left to come home after lunch today. Mom called this afternoon with the update. She was so happy, she couldn’t stop crying over the phone. She is such an amazing mama! It sure is a good thing that she is a nurse on top of it all! Jess is so relieved too, she was getting a little worried because she hasn't been feeling nauseated since the surgery. Apparently she skipped that step all together! Praise The Lord! Another little "blessing" from God! This means that the adenoma was definitely the reason she had Cushing's Syndrome. We are soooooo happy and relieved that the worst is over! She will begin hormone replacement therapy 3 times a day until her hormones level out again. She is doing so great today! We arrived at the hospital around 8:00 a.m. this morning. She was sitting up, drinking her juice and smiling. Everything has gone so well, and our list of blessings just keeps getting longer! Caroline will be heading down to Rochester tomorrow, then all of us will be going down on Sunday to celebrate Easter with mom and Jess. We have so much to celebrate this Easter weekend! On Monday, we get to bring Jess home!! YEAH!

When I climbed into mom’s car to drive home this afternoon, I was completely overcome by my emotions. Mom had her Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir cd in, cued to my favorite song, “King of Glory”. I don’t know about you, but when I’m emotional, songs put me over the edge. I basically cried straight for a good 30 minutes. It wasn’t a sad cry, so don’t feel bad! My tears were tears of joy, tears of relief, and tears of gratitude. We have all felt God’s strength and peace though this entire week, His faithful presence has not left us once! My heart is so joyful that Jess is going to be ok, that her surgery went well, that she was taken such good care of in every way, and that she is so loved and cared for by so many people across the world! I know that I keep “saying” this, but you don’t know how much all of the lovely messages that you have written mean to her. I am going to print them all and put them in a special book for her, so that she can always remember how loved she is. I am also so thankful that everything went so well at home, while I was away. All I can say is, my husband rocks! From green pancakes for dinner on St. Patty’s Day, to way too many hours of watching The Three Stooges with his boys, they turned the week into a “fun” boys week. All three of them have been hugging on me since I got home, telling me how happy they are that I am home. I should go away for 5 days more often (ha ha). I am very blessed!

I added the entire song, King of Glory (the song that made me cry in the car), below. The words are so appropriate right now, with Easter being 2 days away. Our hearts are so full with praise to the Lord, all the glory goes to Him! He is so amazing!

King of Glory (Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir)

Philippians 2:8

8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Pslam 27:9-10

9 Lift up your heads, O you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.

10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The LORD Almighty—
he is the King of glory.
Selah

"When he came down to earth, and
left heaven above,
He took on the form of man
and showed us God’s love
Lord you reign evermore,
surrounded by praise
Now we join with the angels,
exalting your name

King of glory, we worship you
We bow before your throne
You are holy, and beautiful
We’ve come to worship you
We’ve come to worship you

You’re the king of glory, and we worship you
We bow before your throne
You are holy and you’re beautiful
We’ve come to worship you
We’ve come to worship you"

We hope that you all have a very blessed Easter with your loved ones!! We have so much to celebrate! He is risen!!

Under His Wings,

Liz, Jess & Nancy
